Developers, engineers and contractors know: building reliable foundations over poor soils can be expensive, time-consuming, labor-intensive, difficult to stage, and environmentally challenging.

Tensar International offers two innovative foundation construction and improvement systems as alternatives to conventional techniques. Both incorporate Tensar® Geogrids to create stiffened platforms that distribute loads more efficiently over underlying soils, increasing their effective bearing capacity and decreasing differential settlement. The result: foundations where structural integrity is enhanced, construction schedules are reduced and project costs are lowered. 

The Prism® Foundation Improvement System is used for the construction of embankments, bridge approach fills, causeways, levees and dikes over weak soils, including wetlands. The Prism System consists of a composite structure which creates a reliable embankment foundation with significant cost advantages. The system reduces construction footprint, differential settlement potential and fill requirements.

Tensar Systems provide foundations where structural integrity is enhanced, construction schedules are reduced and project costs are lowered.

The Dimension® Foundation Improvement System is used to support shallow structural foundations. This mechanically stabilized structure, composed of aggregate fill and Tensar® TriAx® Geogrid, is placed beneath spread footings to resist differential settlement on weak, compressible soils.
