RoaDrain™ Roadway Drainage System
Tensar International’s RoaDrainTM Roadway Drainage System provides a synthetic subsurface drainage layer (SSDL) that outperforms open-graded base layers (OGBL). The RoaDrain System features durable, nonwoven geotextile filters laminated to the top and bottom of a tri-planar geonet core. These components offer distinct benefits: while the geonet core provides a void-maintaining structure with high compressive strength to resist deformation, the geotextile material offers superior separation and filtration of fines and other materials.
The RoaDrain System can be easily installed:
- Directly beneath a Portland Cement Concrete (PCC) pavement surface to remove water rapidly
- Directly beneath PCC joints and joint repairs
- Beneath the aggregate base course to shorten the drainage path
- Above the subgrade to act as a capillary break over frost-susceptible soils, helping to eliminate frost-heave
The RoaDrain System can be specified for any application exposed to excessive moisture – including highways, airports, railroad trackbeds, embankments, and detention ponds.
