Tensar International Corporation recently acquired the assets and businesses of Endurablend™ Systems. With this acquisition TIC adds a pavement preservation system to its innovative product offering for roadway design and maintenance.

Endurablend™ is an advanced polymer cement slurry surfacing (PCSS) system that extends the service life of asphalt and concrete pavement surfaces. The unique molecular structure of the co-polymer resin in Endurablend PCSS System helps create a flexible and durable protective barrier over asphalt and concrete pavements addressing a wide range of surface distresses while providing a skid resistant surface for vehicular and aeronautical traffic. The Endurablend™ System exponentially extends the useful life of all types of transportation pavement surfaces. And when compared to the life cycle cost of other pavement preservation treatments, Endurablend Systems can be the most cost effective.

The Federal Highway Administration and State D.O.Ts are now stressing the need to treat asphalt as an asset rather than a consumable. ENDURABLEND™ extends the life of asphalt surfaces longer than any other pavement preservation product on the market today, protecting the huge investment that County and Municipal governments have made in their road systems. Due to the ever-present volatile price fluctuation in crude oil, the price of a ton of hot mix asphalt installed has risen on an exponential scale. The ENDURABLEND™ system is less expensive than the price of 1 ½ inch asphalt overlays in many regions, and can last five (5) times longer. Most importantly, the ENDURABLEND™ system is considered a "green" product, as it is safe for the environment and can reduce heat island effects. When fully cured, the material is light gray in color, which reduces the temperature of the supporting asphalt and does not retain heat. ENDURABLEND™ is a pavement preservation innovation that will change the way we approach road surface treatments on a global scale.
