| Alternative Solutions to Natural Turf |

Turf provides a natural aesthetic look and long lasting finish to earth ditches, channels, slopes, and many other earthen structures. Vegetation acts as a natural filter to remove pollutants from surface water. But natural turf has two weaknesses when erosive forces are high - it's difficult to establish and it's prone to wash out. Traditionally, the only way to overcome these drawbacks and protect against high erosive forces was expensive and unsightly "hard armor" (riprap and concrete methods). Tensar Earth Technologies has developed a synthetic alternative - turf reinforcement mats (TRMs).
The TRM products, TM3000 and TB1000 are designed specifically for reinforcing turf. TM3000, a high performance TRM that provides erosion control on a wide range of sites, is designed to reinforce vegetative ground cover. TB1000 is a high strength, synthetic erosion control blanket that protects ground surface from washout and accelerates the growth of seeds and seedlings.
