Speaker Bios

Joe Heintz P.E. – Tensar Area Engineer

Mr. Heintz joined Tensar in 2011 as a regional sales manager for geogrids and pavement interlayers in MI, OH, IN & IL. His primary focus has been the design of flexible pavement sections using geogrids. He has earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering and MBA both from Michigan State University.

Rich Shelton - Tensar Regional Sales Manager
Mr. Shelton is currently the regional sales manager for Tensar roadway business in Illinois and Michigan. He started in construction as a contractor in the erosion control industry for the oil / gas and mining markets. He has provided support to engineers and contractors for geogrid use in mining applications throughout North America since 2007. Mr. Shelton is a graduate of Michigan State University.

Aaron Smith - Tensar TES Walls & Slopes District Manager
Aaron Smith is a 2002 Architectural and Civil Engineering graduate of Central Maine Technical College and is currently pursuing a Business Management degree from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. In his roles within the industry, Aaron has been directly responsible for the invention, product development and sales as well as involved in design and marketing of Mechanically Stabilized Earth (MSE) structures for over 15 years in both the public and private construction markets. Aaron is based out of Tensar’s corporate office in Atlanta, Georgia and is the East District Manager of Tensar’s Walls & Slopes group.

Mark Salveter P.E. – Geopier SRT Region Manager
Mark currently serves as the Geopier – SRT Region Engineer for OH, KY & WV. Mark completed his B.S. in Civil Engineering at Michigan State University in 2005 and worked as a consulting engineer for over nine years in Michigan. Mark is a registered Professional Engineer in the state of Ohio, West Virginia, Kentucky and Indiana.

Tim Lancaster - North American Green VP of Sales
Tim graduated from Purdue University in 1988 and has worked for North American Green for the past 28 years in numerous technical and managerial roles.  Tim invented North American Green’s Vmax Turf Reinforcement Mats and developed the company’s first design software for erosion control materials selection.  In service to the erosion control industry, Tim is the former Chairman of the Erosion Control Technology Council and currently serves on its Board of Directors.

Dale Schwager P.E. – Geopier Project Manger
Mr. Schwager joined Foundation Service Corp in 2007 as a Project Manager for Geopier installation projects in the Mid-west, Upper Mid-west, and Southern California markets. His primary focus in on evaluating, estimating, and managing Rammed Aggregate pier projects. Mr. Schwager is a graduate of the Iowa State University Construction Engineering Program.

Fran Miller P.E. - Geopier Regional Engineer
Fran Miller is the Regional Engineer for Geopier Foundation Company serving the Chicago-Metro and northeast Illinois areas. Her responsibilities include generating sales leads, designing Geopier® soil reinforcement to support a variety of structures, preparing proposals and providing design and construction support. Prior to joining Geopier Foundation Company, she worked for 19 years as a Geotechnical Engineer with Testing Service Corporation in Carol Stream, Illinois. She is a member of the Geo-Institute Local Involvement and Regional Conference Committees.

Miriam Smith Ph.D., P.E. - SRT Lead Engineer
As the SRT Lead engineer, Miriam brings over 18 years of experience in geotechnical engineering consulting research. Miriam has worked as a consulting geotechnical engineer for firms such as Woodward-Clyde Consultants, Treadwell & Rollo, Inc., and the Swedish Geotechnical institute. Miriam completed her B.S. architectural engineering at University of Texas at Austin, and her masters and Doctorate degrees at Virginia Tech, with a focus on Geotechnical engineering.

Rob Condon P.E. – Geopier Area Manager, Great Lakes Region
Before joining Geopier Foundation Company in 2015, Rob worked as a consulting Geotechnical Engineer for 11 years in Florida, Washington DC, Chicago, and Connecticut. As an Area Manager with Geopier, he is responsible for technical and commercial oversight for the Great Lakes Region, including Illinois, St. Louis, Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, and West Virginia. Mr. Condon is a professional engineer licensed in several states and is a graduate from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (BS and MSE).
