Sections Tested:

  • Over 80 Field Sections Monitored; 15 Different Geosynthetics Evaluated using Geosynthetic-Soil Interaction Testing
  • Testing Conducted: Visual Condition Survey; Total Station survey; TxDOT PMIS database; Soil-Geosynthetic Interaction Testing

Key Findings:

  • Physical properties, such as tensile strength, were found not to correlate with field performance.
  • Field testing demonstrated that the triangular aperture geogrids tested performed considerably better than the other biaxial geogrid and geosynthetics tested.
