Tensar International has launched an enhanced version of its market-leading TriAx® Geogrid product which significantly improves the performance of any roadway’s aggregate base course (the layer of stone installed between the surface pavement layer and the subgrade or foundation soils). The new TX8 has been proven to better confine and stabilize the base, reducing rutting and fatigue, while providing much longer lasting pavement compared to conventional materials and practices.

Prior to launching the product, Tensar completed full-scale testing to evaluate the performance of TX8 stabilized highway pavements over stiff subgrade conditions. The latest testing is the Accelerated Pavement Testing (APT) at the US Army Corps of Engineers Engineering Research and Development Center (ERDC). The Corps tested the new TX8 product, applying more than 800,000 ESALs, in heavily controlled and instrumented conditions. Ease of Use

For design engineers, Tensar has made it easy to incorporate TriAx Geogrid, including TX8, into the design process by creating SpectraPave4-PRO (SP4-PRO) software. SP4-PRO is based on significant testing, and has been 3rd party peer reviewed. This powerful tool allows engineers to evaluate design options and optimize pavement performance by incorporating TriAx Geogrid. In addition to the design tools and software, Tensar offers complimentary pavement evaluation and site assessments to determine the best TriAx Geogrid for each project.
